What is Channel Manager?

A channel manager is software that distributes a hotel's rates and availability from a single place to all its online sales channels, such as Booking.com and Expedia, and delivers incoming reservations to the hotel.
Without a channel manager, staff have to log in to each channel's extranet separately to update rates and inventory, which takes time and increases the risk of overbooking.
A two-way integration between the channel manager and the PMS means reservations flow into the PMS automatically, and every sale at the hotel immediately reduces availability on all channels.
