What is GOPPAR (Gross Operating Profit Per Available Room)?
GOPPAR (Gross Operating Profit Per Available Room) is a profitability metric calculated by dividing the hotel's gross operating profit by the number of room nights available.
RevPAR and TRevPAR measure revenue; GOPPAR also accounts for costs. A hotel that generates high revenue but lets its costs run out of control will still have a low GOPPAR.
Gross operating profit is total revenue minus departmental expenses (payroll, supplies, energy, etc.) and undistributed operating expenses; depreciation, rent and financing costs are generally excluded.
Formula
GOPPAR = Gross operating profit ÷ Room nights available
