What is ALOS (Average Length of Stay)?

Turkish: Ortalama Konaklama Süresi

ALOS (Average Length of Stay) is the average number of nights guests stay at a hotel, calculated by dividing total room nights sold by the number of reservations.

The longer the stay, the lower the cost per guest of room cleaning, check-in/check-out and reservation handling, which is why longer stays are usually more profitable.

Hotels raise ALOS with minimum length of stay rules (MinLOS) or long-stay offers such as "stay 3 nights, pay for 2".

Formula

ALOS = Room nights sold ÷ Number of reservations
Example If 495 room nights were sold through 165 reservations in a month, ALOS = 495 ÷ 165 = 3 nights.
