What is Guaranteed Reservation?

A guaranteed reservation is a booking secured by a credit card, prepayment or company guarantee, so that the hotel can charge a set amount even if the guest does not arrive.
With a non-guaranteed reservation, the room is usually held only until a certain time; if the guest does not show up, the room is released for sale. With a guaranteed reservation, the room is held for the guest all night, and if the guest does not arrive, the no-show fee in the cancellation policy applies.
